NEW STUDENTS
FIRST CLASS? START HERE.
You don’t need XFormer experience, a certain fitness level, or any idea what you’re doing before you walk through the door. That’s what we’re here for.
-
Not at all. Plenty of people walk into Structure having never used an XFormer before. Your instructor will help you get familiar with the machine, explain the movements, and offer guidance throughout class. You just need to show up ready to move.
-
Expect 50 minutes of slow, controlled, full-body resistance training—and expect your muscles to work. Your instructor will guide you through each movement, help you find the right resistance, and cue your form along the way. It may feel unfamiliar at first, and that’s completely normal.
-
Yes! For your first class, we recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early so you have time to get settled, meet your instructor, and get comfortable with the Xformer before class begins.
-
Wear comfortable workout clothes that let you move freely. Fitted clothing can make it easier for your instructor to see your alignment and help with form. Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable moving—and sweating—in.
-
Yes! Grip socks are required for all Structure classes to help you stay secure and supported on the Xformer. Don’t have a pair? You can purchase them at the studio before class.
-
Bring water and yourself. We’ll take care of the workout. If there are any studio-specific items students need to bring, we’ll let you know before class.
THE WORKOUT
SO, WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE DOING?
Structure isn’t Pilates, and it isn’t a traditional HIIT class. It’s our own approach to resistance training: controlled, challenging, low-impact, and designed to build strength you can actually use.
-
An XFormer is a resistance-training machine built around a moving, spring-loaded carriage and two stationary platforms. Adjustable spring tension creates resistance throughout each movement, allowing us to challenge strength, stability and stamina while keeping the workout low impact. The machine's additional features and attachments give us a huge amount of versatility in the exercises we can perform.
-
No. While you may recognize some principles like controlled movement, stability, and core engagement, Structure is a resistance-based strength training workout. The focus is on building functional strength, stamina, stability, mobility, and muscular endurance.
-
It’s high-intensity, but probably not in the way you’re used to. Instead of creating intensity through speed, jumping, or pounding, we create it through resistance, slow movement, sustained muscular tension, and very intentional form. Your muscles work hard without the frantic pace of a traditional HIIT class.
-
Moving slowly increases muscular time under tension, creating a more efficient and challenging workout. It also takes momentum out of the equation. Instead of rushing through reps, you have to make every part of the movement count. That’s where a lot of the magic happens.
-
Yes. Structure was intentionally designed to deliver a challenging, high-intensity workout without relying on jumping or high-impact movement. Low-impact definitely doesn’t mean low-effort, though. Your muscles will know the difference.
-
Nope—and that’s part of the fun. Our instructors continuously change movements, sequences, and resistance so your body keeps adapting and your workouts stay interesting. You’ll get the consistency of the Structure Method without doing the exact same workout over and over.
YOUR BODY + YOUR LEVEL
CHALLENGING LOOKS DIFFERENT ON EVERYONE.
The goal isn’t to keep up with the person next to you. It’s to work with your body, find the right challenge for you, and get stronger from there.
-
There isn’t one. Structure is designed to challenge people at different levels in the same room. Resistance and movement options can be adjusted, and your instructor can help you find the version that makes sense for where you are.
-
Then we change it. There’s no prize for forcing your body through something that doesn’t feel right. Let your instructor know and they can help you modify the movement or find another option that works better for you.
-
Please tell your instructor before class begins about any injuries, limitations, or concerns so they can help you navigate the workout appropriately. If you’ve been advised by a medical professional to avoid certain exercise or movements, follow their guidance before participating.
-
Most students will see great results practicing Structure 3–4 times per week.
Structure is designed to complement the other ways you love to move. Pair it with your Yoga Pod practice, running, hiking, biking or whatever keeps you active and feeling good.
BOOKING + STUDIO POLICIES
The Details.
Everything you need to know about booking your classes, making changes to your schedule, and the studio policies that keep things running smoothly.
-
Classes can be booked online through our class schedule. Choose your Boulder or Longmont studio, find the class that works for you, and reserve your Xformer. Advance reservations are required for in-studio classes.
-
If you miss a reserved class or arrive after the 5-minute late-entry cutoff, the class will be deducted from your package. Students with unlimited packages will be charged a $15 no-show fee to the card on file. Fees are subject to change.
-
We allow entry up to 5 minutes after class begins. If you arrive after the 5-minute cutoff, you will not be able to join the class and it will be treated as a no-show. Give yourself a little extra time to arrive, check in, and get settled—especially if it’s your first class.
-
Join the waitlist! If a spot opens, you’ll automatically be added to the class in the order you joined the waitlist and will receive an email notification.
You can remove yourself from the waitlist without penalty as long as you haven’t been added to the class yet. Once you’re moved into class, the regular cancellation and no-show policies apply, so only join a waitlist if you’re still planning to come.
-
Yes! Your Structure classes can be used at both our Boulder and Longmont studios, so you’re free to book at whichever location works best for you.
-
In-studio classes open for reservations 7 days in advance. We recommend booking ahead when you can, especially for popular class times. If your class is already full, add yourself to the waitlist and we’ll automatically move you in if a spot becomes available.
